Katie Kerwin is a distinguished professional in the performing arts with a wealth of experience both on stage and behind the scenes, holding a B.F.A. from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts CAP21 Conservatory. With over 30 years of experience working with both youth and adults, Katie has emerged as a key figure in cultivating aspiring performers and fostering a deep appreciation for the arts across generations.
Kathrin was born and raised in Berlin, Germany, where she gained a vocational/professional degree in the hospitality field before moving to the S.F. Bay Area in 2006. Kathrin has held management level positions in major hotels, as well as in law and accounting firms in San Francisco. Currently, Kathrin’s days are centered around volunteer work based on the activities of her two young daughters. Such work includes volunteering in their classrooms, serving on the Cipriani Elementary PTA, and supporting various aspects of their Girl Scout troops and sports teams. Both of Kathrin’s daughters are involved in BBK, and you can often find her keeping everyone’s children happy and organized at the BBK shows, before and after the curtains go up.
During her over 15-year career in the entertainment industry, Tiffini was responsible for overseeing the business, personnel and financial affairs for multiple Broadway tours and sit-down productions including THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, MISS SAIGON and IRVING BERLIN’S WHITE CHRISTMAS. Since returning to the Bay Area, she is currently an IT Innovation Consultant for Kaiser Permanente using Human Centered Design practices to re-imagine the future of healthcare. She received her B.S. in Business Management from Santa Clara University and an M.B.A. from Golden Gate University. Tiffini lives in Oakland, CA with her musician husband, Graham Hill and her 35-year-old cockatiel, Bonsai.
Catherine grew up in New York and has been living in San Francisco since 2000. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice, her focus is working with older adults and their adult children navigating the aging process. She is married with 2 children and a doggie and spends her time balancing work, being a classroom parent and sitting on the School Site Council at FSK Elementary. She is also a current Board Member at LBFE-San Francisco. Her older daughter is involved at BBK both as a student and Leader-in-Training. Growing up in NY and visiting annually, she loves sharing the joy of Broadway with her kids and they see a show every visit! She is passionate about providing opportunities for all kids to shine on and off stage and to know the thrill of live shows and music.
Sonya grew up in Canada and has been living in the Bay Area since 2008. She is an Occupational Therapist, and has worked with both children and the elderly in a variety of settings and is passionate about mind and body wellness. She volunteers at her daughter’s school teaching art and with a local non-profit organization to grow healthy food in school gardens. Her love of musical theatre started when she was a teenager and continues to this day. Her most memorable show to date was the Little Mermaid starring her daughter as Ariel, in one of the first BBK productions. Years later, her daughter has been in numerous other BBK productions while Sonya enjoys volunteering behind the scenes and watching the performers grow and shine on stage.
Bonnie FInato
Bonnie grew up in the Sacramento area but has been living in the Bay Area for the past 15 years. She has a BS and Master of Education from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and has been teaching middle school math for 17 years. Bonnie has been lucky enough to have two of her kids involved in BBK and is looking forward to sharing the amazing program with many others.
A dedicated and visionary leader, Kimberly played a pivotal role in founding the organization.
Her wisdom, passion, and commitment to performing arts education and community service were invaluable, leaving a lasting impact on our organization and community. We remember Kim with our deepest respect, admiration and gratitude for her exemplary service.
